Lenovo ThinkPad E470 Review: A 14-Inch Laptop With High-Quality Audio and Good Customization Options
There are many great things worth mentioning in a Lenovo ThinkPad E470 review. For starters, this laptop has a remarkable build. There is no flex on the chassis, and the solid hinge keeps the screen from becoming flimsy. Even though it’s an entry-level model, it still has good hardware, such as an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and up to 16GB of RAM.
The keyboard gets a lot of praise with its tactile feel, bluetooth audio module little to no flex, and accuracy. It’s a spill-resistant, full-size keyboard renowned for its ergonomic design. The TrackPoint pointing device is a result of 20+ years of testing and perfecting on Lenovo’s part. The trackpad is large and features buttons that can be configured in a number of different ways. The navigation is on point and user-intuitive.
The E470 comes with a crisp 14-inch IPS antiglare display (FHD 1920×1080) capable of achieving 250-nits. The audio is high-quality as well. No matter what you want to listen to, you can expect clear surround sound via the Dolby Audio Premium technology and built-in stereo speakers.
Standard battery life is around eight hours when you do typical web stuff at around 60% brightness. However, the battery life is significantly reduced by less than half of that with a full load. Still, this isn’t bad compared to other notebooks out there in the same price-range. Overall, the battery is good.
You can expect a fairly quiet operation – even when you are playing games or multi-tasking a number of demanding applications. Even when there IS a bit of noise, it’s still not distracting. You will likely have headphones on anyway, so any sound coming from video watching or the game you’re playing will drown out the noise of the fan.
