Did Mesopotamians Use Business Cards?

A lot of people seem to think that society originated in the west, but that simply doesn’t hold up to scrutiny when the archaeological record is taken in to account. The truth of the situation is that humanity originated in Africa, and the first major human civilization on record actually came about in modern day Iraq! Of course, Iraq is a modern name, and the name we gave to the ancient society that developed in this region is actually Mesopotamia.

This civilization is actually quite remarkable when you think about it from an objective point of view. They had a lot of the things that we take for granted in the modern era, and there is a pretty good chance that they used business cards as well! They probably didn’t have Metal Business Kards, but they still used clay tablets with words etched onto them. This is because of the fact that they had very advanced economies, and traders and merchants in that region often needed these tablets for the exact same reason that modern day business owners need business cards!

Taking a look at Mesopotamia reveals just how similar humans have been throughout our history. The fact of the matter is that they had restaurants and customer complaints, and it is truly surprising that they had an outlook that all of us can relate to for the most part. This just goes to show that business cards are the latest iteration of traditions that go back to the very farthest reaches of our history, and much of this history occurred in the east as well as other developing parts of the world such as Africa, South Asia and the Middle East.
